By Rebecca McCorey

During the pandemic, Marvel embarked on a new journey, releasing several new series on the Disney streaming platform. Among these, "Wandavision," "Hawkeye," "The Falcon and the Winter Soldier" and "Loki" emerged as standout hits to many students and faculty.

“Loki Season 1 was very good, and was a good introduction to the next MCU Saga,” math teacher Mr. Brusca said. “Out of all of the Disney+ Shows, this was my favorite and I am looking forward to starting Season 2.”

Many students and faculty look forward to Loki season 2 and the continuation of the multiverse saga.

"Loki" centers around the MCU villain, Loki, and his journey within the Time Variance Authority. The show starts with Loki causing a branching of the timeline, leading to his apprehension by Hunter B-15, who escorts him to the TVA to fix the timeline and confront an upcoming threat. However, Loki finds himself stuck in a crime drama of his own creation, forcing him to rewrite human history while traveling through time. The original cast included Tom Hiddleston as Loki, Owen Wilson as Mobius M. Mobius, Sophia Di Martino as Sylvie, Gugu Mbatha-Raw as Ravonna Renslayer, Wunmi Mosaku as Hunter B-15 and more.

The show's hype soared with the release of the highly-anticipated "Loki" Season 2 trailer, which has received over fifteen million views. Unveiled during Disney's D23 Expo, the trailer offers a look into Loki's ongoing journey as he grapples with the consequences of Season 1. With the Multiverse in turmoil and the TVA at the center of a cosmic conflict, the upcoming season promises exciting episodes.

As anticipation grows, audiences are eager to witness how the second season will impact the MCU.

"This season could have some serious impact on the future of the MCU. I look forward to seeing it unfold," senior Vincent Jiang said.

The second season has the potential to significantly influence the MCU, diving into the intricacies of timelines and addressing questions about the TVA's selection process and variant monitoring. It also provides an opportunity to explore theories about the Multiverse, including its existence and the number of Multiverses. However, not everyone is convinced that the series will have a major impact on the future of the MCU.

"I don't think it's going to have a major impact on the future of the MCU,” said math teacher Mr. Maltese. “I believe they should focus more on core stories and prioritize quality over quantity. They might need to return to the basics to rekindle audience interest.”

Whether or not this season will have a major impact on the future of the MCU remains a subject of debate. Still, many students and faculty feel that "Loki" Season 2 will deliver another exciting chapter in the adventures of the infamous anti-hero.
