Committing to college is an exciting event for all seniors across the country, and many celebrate this milestone with friends and family. Recently, NHP seniors have been celebrating their friends’ college decisions by decorating their beds and surprising them.
“I love college bed decorating. I think it’s a fun way to celebrate your friends’ accomplishments and their commitment to college and make them feel loved! When my friends surprised me I was so happy and I felt really appreciated,” said senior Gina Bamberger.

College bed decorations usually include covering a friend’s bed with snacks that correlate with the college’s school colors, merchandise from the college the friend is attending, and balloons to represent the college the friend is attending.
“Bed decorations are a fun way to celebrate your college commitment with friends and family. I was so surprised and excited walking into my room seeing all of my friends there and my room being decorated in Binghamton apparel and accessories. Planning bed decorations is also fun because you get to give gifts and congratulate your friends on the next chapter in their lives,” said senior Maria Poulos.

“Putting together a bed decoration was a lot of work but in the end it was worth it seeing how happy they [my friends] get walking into their room and being surprised by all their new clothes and friends there. I personally loved the idea of bed decorating because it made me excited for my college experience,” said senior Jenna Neu.
“I think bed decorating is such a sweet thing to do and such a fun way to celebrate this next chapter! In mine and my friends' case (the way we do it) it’s always a surprise which I think is incredibly fun. It’s so exciting to be able to do that for the people you love,” said senior Sydney Hargrove.
“Me and my friends have been throwing each other bed decorating parties to celebrate our college commitments and all the hard work we did in high school to get to this point! It’s a great way to celebrate where you are spending your next four,” said senior Isabella Bigeni.
